Always check from behind to identify the flattest part of the tee. |

The rules allow you to move anywhere up to 2 club-lengths behind the markers. This area is usually clear of divots and footmarks. |

Always use a teepeg, even on short par-3's. This is one advantage that you are given on each hole so use it. |

If all of the trouble is situated on the right of the hole, tee up on the right side of the tee and vice versa if the trouble is on the left. This ensures that you are hitting away from the trouble. |

If your ball flight is left to right, teeing up on the right side of the tee and aiming down the left half of the fairway will increase the effective width of the fairway. Vice versa for right to left ball flights. |

The driver isn't the only club you can use off the tee. 3-wood, hybrid or a long iron are often better options to position you for your approach shot. |
